How do i know i am choosing the right class and methods for me and my dog?
Choosing the right class for you and your dog can be a daunting question. There are so many classes and instructors and methods out there, where do you begin??
Remember, any training class you go to, depends on your commitment to practice at home, like most things in life you only get out what you put in :)

- A good idea is to research the methods used and see if they are up to date and kind/fair methods of training.
- If they have been on courses its really good to find out which ones and look into them too.
- Ask your local vet if she/he would recommend any trainers in the area and why they recommend them.
- Ask the trainer if you can watch one of the lessons- i would always do this, as i would never want to put me or my pet in a situation where our relationship could be damaged.
- See if the class is organised, is there structure to the course or classes, or is it a free for all. Is everyone getting equal attention on them, or are some people left struggling, and the trainer concentrates only on the best.
- Is the trainer insured?
- If its a puppy class, make sure they are not mixed with adult dogs.
- Ask people who are attending the course what they think about it and if it is working for them.
